World Suicide Prevention Day September 10th 2024
Tomorrow at the surgery you will see staff members wearing something yellow this in support of World Suicide Prevention Day
If you need urgent crisis support, call the Nottinghamshire Mental Health Crisis Line on 0808 196 3779 (24/7) or the Samaritans on 116 123 (24/7 ).
If you need immediate help because you can’t keep yourself safe, or you have already harmed yourself, seek emergency help either by phoning 999 or by visiting your local A&E.
Preventing suicide is everybody’s business: one in five people have suicidal thoughts at some point in their life. Many of us may have been affected by suicide in some way, either directly or indirectly. Suicide is not inevitable and can be prevented.
If you have been affected by suicide and would like information on local support services, or just talk to someone about mental health, come along to one of our community events at libraries across the county in September.
Mental health community events
We are hosting a series of events in September at libraries across the county, offering mental health advice and support, and information on local support services. If you are struggling, or you are supporting someone that is, please come along and have a chat.
Some local support services will also be joining us at the events, so you can find out more about the services they provide and what they can do to help.
